Question:
We have offices in Cincinnati, Dayton, and Columbus. We have looked into trying to connect each office’s network together as a wide area network so we can better share resources, but it is very expensive. Any ideas?

Answer:
This is a common problem with any business with multiple offices. Many small businesses use a DSL or broadband cable connection to connect their offices to the Internet. This is approach is fairly inexpensive, but until now it was not easy to create a company-wide are network (WAN) via the Internet. Modern Office Methods (MOM) offers a great solution to this common problem. By placing an IBM Lotus Foundations server in each office, the IBM Lotus Foundations server can create a highly secure, Virtual Private Network (VPN) Tunnel to connect any number of remote offices using your current Internet connections. This solution has saved many clients hundreds of thousands of dollars.
