 Church of the Messiah

CLIENT OVERVIEW:

The Church of the Messiah has locations in Westerville and Minerva Park, Ohio. The church offers a wide array of worship services, Sunday school, missionary services, a bell choir and youth activities, as well as many other services and activities for members of the community. With a congregation of more than 2,700 members, it is crucial for the church to have reliable copier systems for its large printing and copying needs. The church had a spot color Riso Duplicator with MOM since December 2004 and leased additional equipment through other vendors.

BUSINESS CHALLENGE:

The church wanted to make the transition from black-and-white bulletins to full-color bulletins. Church of Messiah volunteers also were spending many hours folding bulletins by hand; time that could have been better utilized with other church activities. When researching the costs to outsource the high-volume, weekly print jobs, the church received expensive quotes from local printers. And, like many other growing organizations, the church had several copiers on various vendors’ contracts and wanted to consolidate its fleet to attain a single contract for easier billing and service.

SOLUTION:

In 2007, MOM equipped the church with five Lanier black-and-white copiers and a Konica Minolta C6500 for full-color printing with booklet finishing. With more than 20,000 black-and-white documents generated monthly and 1,700 full-color, two-page, 11x17-inch newsletters generated weekly, the upgraded equipment produces consistent, high-quality documents with high standards of design. In addition, the copiers’ folding and stapling capabilities allow church volunteers to devote more time to other activities. Nearing a million documents produced since operating with its new fleet, the Church of Messiah continues to enjoy newsletters that look as fresh as the ones produced on the day it began using the new equipment.
